Feeling the Heat? Don't Forget to Hydrate! ☀️

When the weather heats up, it's super easy to get dehydrated — and a lot of the time, we don't even realize it until we start feeling kind of off. Your body needs water to function properly, and when you're running low, things can get out of balance pretty quickly.

Some signs you might be dehydrated include:

  • Dry mouth

  • Feeling really thirsty

  • Low energy or fatigue

  • Dry or flaky skin

  • Headaches

  • Constipation

  • Dizziness or light-headedness

  • Nausea or even vomiting

  • Muscle cramps

  • Not sweating as much as usual

  • General weakness

  • Peeing less than normal

So how do you stay ahead of it? First and foremost, drink enough water! A good rule of thumb is to drink half your body weight in ounces of water every day. So, if you weigh 150 lbs, try to get in around 75 oz of water daily — that's just over six soda cans' worth. And nope, coffee, tea, soda, and other caffeinated drinks don't count!

You can also give your hydration a boost with a few simple tricks. I like electrolyte mixes like LMNT or SALTT — they're sugar-free or low in sugar and super effective. Homeopathic cell salts are another great option and easy to find at most health food stores. Smart Water or any mineral-enhanced water can help too. Or, if you're into a more natural DIY approach, you can make your own electrolyte drink at home with just water, pinch or two of sea salt, and lemon juice. Super easy and no added junk.

Bottom line: keep sipping, especially when it's hot out. Your body will thank you. ☀️💧
